SALIVA Shares Music Video For ‘Come Back Stronger’, Filmed Five Days Before WAYNE SWINNY’s Death (Sept 8, 2023)
SALIVA has released the official music video for the song “Come Back Stronger”. The track is taken from the band’s latest album, “Revelation”, which came out today (Friday, September 8). It marks the band’s first release since the passing of SALIVA’s founding guitarist Wayne Swinny, who died six months ago while on tour with the group.
The “Come Back Stronger” video was notably filmed on March 16, 2023 — just five days before Swinny’s death — and is dedicated to the fallen guitarist.
Asked in a recent interview with Real Music With Gary Stuckey what it has been like trying to keep the band going while coping with the loss of their bandmate and friend, SALIVA singer Bobby Amaru said: “You can’t really put words to it to describe [it]. The years have been crazy. But it’s just the way life is, and there’s nothing we can do about it when these things happen. We’ve just gotta try to honor him the right way and do what he would have wanted and just try to pay tribute to who he was and continue that legacy.”
Bobby also talked about Swinny’s involvement with “Revelation”, saying: “I challenged him a lot on this record with just trying different things, playing different ways — things that he hadn’t done before. But he was super stoked about how it all came out. I mean, you’ll hear it when you listen to the songs and stuff. There’s a lot of really, really cool guitar work all over this record. And he was a huge part of all that.”
On March 22, SALIVA shared a statement on Facebook in which the band said that Swinny had been found that morning “in medical distress.” Paramedics were called and the musician was transported to hospital “where he was diagnosed with a Spontaneous Hemorrhage in his brain.”
SALIVA was on the road in the U.S. as part of the “Spring Mayhem” tour with THROUGH FIRE and ANY GIVEN SIN and had played in Warrendale, Pennsylvania on March 21.
When “Revelation” was first announced in July, Amaru said in a statement: “We started working on this record in 2020 during the pandemic shutdown. I felt like we had to get outside of the box with this one.
“I’ve been sober almost five years now and there are many songs on this record that are a reflection of it. I just wanted to connect with the listener and pull them into what I was dealing with but also shed some light on overcoming personal adversity.
“With the passing of Wayne in March, I felt lost. Where do I go? I knew we had this record we were all stoked about. Wayne’s influence is all over these songs and, in my opinion, his playing on this album is next level. It’s the only right thing to do to honor him and all our hard work and release it. I just want to share with the world what we have worked on the last three-plus years.”
SALIVA will team up with DROWNING POOL, ADELITAS WAY and ANY GIVEN SIN for the “SNAFU Le Tour 2023” in September and October.
SALIVA launched its career in 2001 with the release of “Every Six Seconds”, a double-platinum selling album with hits that include “Click, Click Boom” and “Your Disease”.
The band has toured the U.S. with SEVENDUST, AEROSMITH and KISS.
SALIVA reunited with original singer Josey Scott for a one-off appearance at last year’s Blue Ridge Rock Festival at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia.
Scott left SALIVA at the end of 2011 after 15 years with the group, reportedly to pursue a solo Christian music career. He was quickly replaced by Amaru, who can be heard on SALIVA’s last four releases: “In It To Win It” (2013),”Rise Up” (2014),”Love, Lies & Therapy” (2016) and “10 Lives” (2018).
SALIVA released six albums with Scott and tasted platinum success and a Grammy nomination for its first big hit, “Your Disease”.
In May 2021, SALIVA celebrated the 20th anniversary of its breakthrough major label debut, “Every Six Seconds”, with a special project called “Every Twenty Years”, an EP of classic songs re-recorded with Amaru.

“I’m excited as hell to be rocking out with Ryan McCombs back at the helm with us in Drowning Pool and touring together again with our brothers in Saliva! We hit it off as friends right out of the gate playing our first show together at WrestleMania 18 in 2002, and with Ryan on Ozzfest 2002. We’ve all had so many great festival shows and tours together throughout the years. Looking forward to sharing the stage once again with Saliva, having Ryan McCombs back with us in Drowning Pool, forever celebrating the memory of Dave Williams and Wayne Swinny, making new insane tour memories and kickass shows across the country. Can’t wait to perform and hang out with all of our friends and family at the rock shows! C’mon out and have a great time with us!” states Drowning Pool guitarist C.J. Pierce.
Ryan McCombs adds, “Drowning Pool and Saliva are two bands that not only have a rich history of their own but they’re two bands that have a great history of sharing the road together. This being my first extended run of dates back with my Drowning Pool family, I am horns-up and hells-to-the-yes that it’s also with Saliva! People that I respect as musicians and performing artists as well as real human beings that I consider friends.. Along with all that, having both Adelitas Way and Any Given Sin is a surefire recipe for a killer night, every night. From the first note to the last.”
Each band will be conducting their own on-site VIP prior to doors. These VIPs will be sold on a separate platform and will not include a ticket to the show. All VIPs will need to purchase a show ticket for entrance.

Statement From Saliva (Apr 29, 2023)
Since the devastating loss of our brother Wayne, we have had many difficult discussions regarding the future of the band. We had recently completed an album that was three years in the making, but when tragedy struck, we paused all plans and focused our energy on supporting one another and Wayne's loved ones through this troubling time.
As we grieved, we also took time to reflect on the joy of countless memories together on the road, travelling. making music and performing, Wayne truly loved being onstage and he loved his fans. We also thought about all the creativity, talent, and
STATEMENT FROM LINDA HANSON (Wayne's sister)
"Wayne Swinny was one of a kind. He tried to cover up his kind, gentle, loving heart and soul with a rough and tough exterior, but he just couldn't help being the person he really was. Kind. Gentle. Loving.
A true friend! He truly lived life to the fullest and was living his life-long dream. His talent was natural. He would sit in his room as a young kid listening to KISS and picking out the music on his guitar. As his sister in the bedroom next to his that was not always a good thing. But there is no denying he was an
passion that Wayne put into what would ultimately and unfortunately end up being his last album.
Onstage and off, Wayne was a powerful presence in all our lives, so the decision on whether to carry on as a band is a difficult one.
What is the best way to honor a legendary talent like Wayne?
After careful consideration, and with the support of his family, we have made the decision to pay tribute to his legacy the best way we know how, through our music. We intend to move forward with the release of our album so everyone can hear the new songs that Wayne put his heart and soul into. We will also continue with the summer tour plans, honoring his memory every time we perform with a portion of the proceeds from each show gifted to his daughter Nikki.
The entire music community has lost a remarkable talent, and Wayne's impact on the music industry will continue to be felt for years to come. We miss Wayne beyond measure, but we know that he would want us to keep making music and sharing it with our fans, and to keep his spirit alive through our performances.
We are grateful for the love and support from Wayne's family, fans, and friends.
Rest in peace, Wayne. You will be missed, but your music will live on forever.
amazing musician and guitarist. I am beyond proud of him. As the last original Saliva band member, all he wanted was to continue the Saliva legacy. He loved the band but most of all loved his fans. His spirit will live through the new album, every new song they write, and every performance the band will continue to give. Wayne's legacy will live on through the music of Saliva - now and in the future.
He would want everyone to Rock On."

“High on Me” to be released November 11, 2022 (Nov 8, 2022)
High on me is about a day in the life of someone’s opioid addiction. “Is it me or the drugs that keep you sticking around?” The opioid epidemic is something so many struggle with and most never make it out the other side. I’ve had many friends die from it and it saddens me when I hear of someone losing that battle. “

Blonde hair, blue eyes
Couldn’t color your lies
You’re so fucking black and white
Whisper to a scream
Candy or the codeine
Try and get your story right
Are you high on the pills you take
Or the crimes of our yesterdays
Are you high on the make believe or,
Are you high on me
Are you high on me
Mother taught me
Give her black coffee
See what spills from her mouth
3 ring circus
Rising to the surface
Who’s the lion who’s the clown
Are you high on the pills you take
Or the crimes of our yesterdays
Are you high on the make believe or,
Are you high on me
On the cocaine kiss
On the bedroom bliss
All the cash we burned
Yeah we lived but we never really learned
Now I see
I don’t know
How far you’ll go
Are you high on the pills you take
Or the crimes of our yesterdays
Are you high on the make believe or,
Are you high on me
Tell me are you high on me?
Tell me are you high on me?

SALIVA Unveils Documentary Detailing Quarter-Century Career (May 3, 2021)
In conjunction with the release of “Every Twenty Years”, a EP celebrating the 20th anniversary of SALIVA‘s major label debut, “Every Six Seconds”, the group has released a short documentary detailing its 25-year journey.
“We felt like it would be cool to give the fans a little peek behind the curtain of the history of SALIVA, so to speak,” says guitarist Wayne Swinny.
Adds drummer Paul Crosby: “Twenty years is a long time ago, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. Making this documentary brought back memories of some really magical times.”
At just under 20 minutes, the killDevil Films-produced documentary encapsules SALIVA‘s quarter-century career, from forming in Memphis in 1996 to rising to fame with “Every Six Seconds” and the addition of vocalist Bobby Amaru after the departure of Josey Scott a decade ago. The film also includes an appearance by producer Bob Marlette, who recounts his work with SALIVA on “Every Six Seconds”.
“My decade in the band has been a great chapter in my life,” Amaru says. “This documentary was something we wanted to do for the fans to have an inside look because without them, SALIVA doesn’t exist. The ‘Every Six Seconds’ record has carried this band for 20 years and more. That’s special!”
“Every Twenty Years” will be released on May 7 via Megaforce.
“Every Twenty Years” track listing:
01. Your Disease (2021 Version)
02. Click Click Boom (2021 Version)
03. After Me (2021 Version)
04. Greater Than/Less Than (2021 Version)
05. Spyhunter (2021 Version)
06. Spoonman (2021 Version)
Formed in Memphis is 1996, SALIVA released a self-titled a debut album the following year. After selling 10,000 copies of the self-released album, Island Records took notice of the band. “Every Six Seconds” and its hit singles, the Grammy-nominated “Your Disease” and “Click Click Boom”, catapulted SALIVA into the mainstream and is now certified double platinum.
Two months ago, it was announced that SALIVA had abandoned its previously announced plan to reunite with Scott.
Scott broke the news of his return to SALIVA in October 2019 during an appearance on “The Morning Dump”, a podcast hosted by “The Big Mad Morning Show” in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the time, Josey said that he wanted to get together with SALIVA and “write a badass record.”
SALIVA guitarist Wayne Swinny addressed Scott‘s status with the band during a March 2021 interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station. Asked if there are still plans for Josey to reunite with SALIVA for a possible album and/or a tour, Wayne said: “There was preliminary discussions, but it never really got off the ground. We just basically had to make plans and keep this train rolling, so to speak. It didn’t make sense to me to stop what we were doing. ‘Cause this unit, we’ve been together, it’s been almost 10 years now, with Bobby in the band. Brad came along shortly after that. We’re tight. We get along. It’s a well-oiled machine. We’ve got a great crew, a great bus driver. It would throw a monkey wrench into the actual SALIVA.”
SALIVA is:
Bobby Amaru – vocals
Wayne Swinny – guitar
Paul Crosby – drums
Brad Stewart – bass
Saliva to Celebrate ‘Every Six Seconds’ Album With ‘Every Twenty Years’ EP: Exclusive (Mar 26, 2021)
Twenty years ago, Saliva spat out its breakthrough second album Every Six Seconds, placing three singles on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and eventually going Platinum. Now, after two decades and a change in lead singers, the hard rockers are re-recording that album with current frontman Bobby Amaru, who took over after Josey Scott left the band in 2011. Re-titled Every Twenty Years…, the EP will drop May 7, Billboard can reveal.
“In the ten years I’ve been with the band, I’ve realized how strong the fan base for us really is. I wanted to do something for the fans for embracing me with open arms. I heard fans all the time asking me if we ever thought about recording some of the old hits with my voice. I’ve sang those songs enough to where they have become an important chapter of my life. What better way than to revive this EP album to mark the 20th anniversary,” Amaru tells Billboard.
The 2021 version of “Your Disease,” originally a No. 3 hit on the Mainstream Rock Airplay chart from Every Six Seconds, is out now as a taste of the re-recorded project. An 18-minute documentary about Every Twenty Years… is coming in late April as well.
“People of my generation and all around rocked these tunes before and will continue to now,” Amaru says. “The Every Six Seconds record has brought Saliva abundant success and we are all grateful.”

Saliva’s ninth studio album, Love, Lies & Therapy, slated for release on UME on June 10 (Apr 15, 2016)
Follow-up to 2014’s ‘Rise Up’ Is band’s second release with lead singer Bobby Amaru, who produced and wrote or co-wrote all Saliva songs features a cover of Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us”
With nine studio albums, including one gold and platinum and a 2002 Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance for “Your Disease” under their belts, you wouldn’t think Saliva –formed 1996 in Memphis, TN – would have anything left to prove. But that’s simply not the case.
With their ninth studio album, the aptly titled Love, Lies & Therapy, which is slated for release on June 10, 2016, on Universal Music Enterprises – and second with lead vocalist Bobby Amaru joining co-founding member, lead guitarist Wayne Swinny, drummer Paul Crosby and newest member bassist Brad Stewart – Saliva has been reenergized. Thanks to Amaru, who produced most of the album (with co-producers Nolan Neal and Damien Starkey) and wrote or co-wrote all the originals, the band has found a new energy and expanded their signature anthemic choruses and crunching riffs into different directions, with power ballads (“Tragic Kind Of Love,” “Break Down,” “The Loneliest Know” and “Hand In Hand”) alongside typical scorchers like “Trust,” “Bitch Like You,” “Unshatter Me,” “Rx” and the rap-rock-flavored “Go Big Or Go Home.” Adding to the eclectic approach is an unlikely, but powerful cover of Michael Jackson’s “They Don’t Care About Us,” a single from his 1996 album, HIStory, Past Present and Future, Book 1.
“It’s time to ignite/I refuse to lose/Cause I’ve come alive,” insists Amaru in “Refuse To Lose,” as he sets the template for Love, Lies & Therapy, which lives up to its name as a penetrating glimpse into the horrors of addiction – to either another person or drugs. “I’m addicted to the pain/It was all for you,” he sings in “Tragic Kind Of Love,” while in “Bitch Like You,” he confronts the issue straight-on. “Starving your addiction leave you/Leaves you wanting more.” In “Unshatter Me,” Amaru cries out, “Kneel down and put me back together fix me like before/You crush me when you touch me then I spill out on the floor” and in the explicit “Rx,” he leaves no doubt what he’s singing about: “I’ve got a loaded gun but can’t pull the trigger/You’re the poison in my veins you’re the cancer/I can’t fight it off/I can’t fight this disease.”
Saliva does intend to overcome, though, as in “Go Big Or Go Home,” where Amaru insists “It’s my time to rise so let’s go,” or the closing “Hand In Hand,” an elegiac, Led Zeppelin-esque number that seems to put his troubles behind him: “So I’ll see you soon old friend/And we’ll burn hand in hand,” with a chilling Wayne Swinny guitar solo doing the honors in burying the past and facing the future.
On Love, Lies & Therapy, Saliva dig deep, transforming themselves into a refurbished rock band that takes the best from their impressive legacy and launches into a promising present.
